Members present: Geri Spieler, Alisha Willis, David Harris, Margaret Nalbach, Sue Barizon, Tim Flood, Carole Bumpus, Kate Adams, Miera Rao, Nirmy Kang, Laurel Anne Hill, David Strom, Vibha Akkaraju, Audrey Kalman, Vanessa MacLaren-Wray
1. Minutes: February 2023 meeting minutes were presented (a name was amended) and passed.
2. Facebook: A private Facebook page for members has been set up by Megan McDonald (sp?)
3. Nominating Committee: Geri called for a Nominating Committee - as of now we only have 2 people on it (Tim and Margaret)
4. Monthly Speakers: Vibha asked for suggestions on how to vet speakers for the monthly meetings. Some suggestions were: to have them be already vouched for, to have the speaker provide a 10 min link to a previous presentation, to check their websites to gauge level of professionalism
5. Critique Groups: Miera asked if we are going to allow non-members to participate in critique groups. It was decided that the host should be a member whilst other participants do not have to be.
6. Fault Zone: Acceptances and rejections will be ready to be sent by the end of this week. 7. Stuart Horwitz Workshop: Sue spent $254.51 on lunch.
9. Start Time: It was decided to push Board Meeting start times to 7pm.
10. Writers Helping Writers: Unfortunately only one person attended (most probably because of the atmospheric river!) the session in San Mateo. Geri will reach out to David to discuss ideas for advertising.
11. No decision was made on ByLaws and Policy & Procedures. A Zoom meeting has been scheduled on Wednesday 15th March at 1PM for further discussion.
12. Alisha presented the Treasurer's report for February.
13. A motion was proposed by Alisha to increase the cost of monthly meetings from $10 to $15 beginning in May 2023. The motion was seconded and approved.
